XACT cost calculator

Built a calculator to help pre-sales teams estimate high-volume usage costs for the XACT banking platform and onboard clients.

My roleDeveloper

Overview

Pre-sales teams needed a way to estimate usage costs for prospective banking-platform clients, especially at high volumes.

Project statusPre-sales tool

Scope

A calculator for estimating high-volume usage costs during banking-platform pre-sales and onboarding. My contribution is the calculator, rather than ownership of the entire platform.

Product scope

Main features

01

Usage-cost estimates

Translate prospective usage into a cost estimate that pre-sales teams can use in client discussions.

02

High-volume scenarios

Support estimation for clients whose expected platform usage makes manual costing harder to compare.

03

Onboarding support

Give the commercial team a concrete tool to support early client planning and onboarding conversations.

Tools & responsibilities

Technology

React & TypeScript

The supporting administrative web platform.

TanStack Query & Router

Data fetching and navigation in the host interface.

Tailwind CSS

Styling and interface composition in the host frontend.

Python & AWS CDK

Infrastructure in the supporting backend.

Stack shown is the supporting platform identified in the project source, not a claim that every component powers the calculator itself.

Decisions & trade-offs

Engineering approach

Make the estimate useful in a sales conversation

The aim was a repeatable costing aid for prospective usage, giving pre-sales a concrete basis for discussing volume and expected cost.

Keep estimation claims bounded

The reported 80–90% accuracy is an approximate project estimate. A formal benchmark definition and evaluation period are not available for this public case study.

What I worked on

  • Built the cost calculator for the XACT banking platform.
  • Supported high-volume usage estimates and the client-onboarding process.

Results & scope

80–90%

approximate cost-estimation accuracy

  • Approximately 80–90% cost-estimation accuracy.
  • Gave the pre-sales team a tool for estimating platform usage costs when onboarding clients.

The accuracy figure is an approximate project estimate.
